DEFENDERS Marketing Content Writer in INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana
The Marketing Content Writer is responsible for creating content and writing copy that delivers a consistent message and voice throughout the customer journey. The individual in this position will develop creative for corporate, offline, and online initiatives as well as own the day-to-day reputation management communications. This person works within the Content and Creative team shaping message strategy and in coordination with Marketing Services team to ensure on-time and on-brand content and copywriting.
Write copy and develop content for advertising and interactive/web properties consistent with message strategy.
Work collaboratively to develop outstanding quality pieces for interactive/web, print, broadcast, direct mail, out‐of‐home, and other forms of promotion.
Research DEFENDERS’ brand, customers, products, services, and competition to deliver accurate and on target creative that is consistent across all channels and mediums.
Oversee copywriting from inception through completion, ensuring a high level of quality by providing proofing, editing, and quality assurance before going to market
Garner sources for stories and information used in creating content that will engage and motivate audiences.
Monitor employee and customer feedback for DEFENDERS online reputation and coordinates responses.
Capable of and willing to act on his/her own.Seeks responsibilities and takes action without explicit instructions. Brings the game to the Associate Creative Director.
Stay current with creative trends, tools, and best practices, sharing this knowledge with team members, challenging each other to learn and grow.
Request additional training and tools to ensure a high level of professional skills and knowledge.
Background & Education:
Education: BA in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or equivalent work experience in a related field.
Experience developing marketing content and copy with a portfolio demonstrating work.
Outside‐the‐box creativity reaching a variety of audiences.
Ability to manage deadlines and juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to support and sell creative ideas.
A passion and talent for big‐idea thinking and storytelling with attention to details .
Proficiency and experience utilizing social media platforms and adapting writing for each medium.
Skilled in writing clear and grammatically correct copy and content, consistent with AP guidelines.
5 years of agency or corporate content writer/copywriter experience for business‐to‐consumer (B2C) brands.
Any communications, public relations (PR), direct response (DR), Google AdWords, search engine optimization (SEO), or social media experience a plus.
